The Tagger Track Gang Resource Module can be utilized either stand-alone or as a fully integrated component of the APReWS family of law enforcement software. It provides the agency with a means and methodology to collect and disseminate field information on crews, gangs and their members operating in your area.
With clients located throughout the department, any office can enter contact information or inquire for past contacts. This methodology links the various units that routinely contact such individuals with investigators who will have a more focused interest but often less daily contact with the subjects.
The system incorporates the ability to attach digital images from various sources. By simply clicking on the image box, one can select an image file and incorporate that image directly into the report. The image will be stored, then displayed when the record is retrieved. We currently accept JPG, GIF and BMP formats due entirely to quality considerations. We can accept other formats as needed and on request.
The system maintains a running history of all contacts entered and has the ability to maintain data in a single data warehouse limited primarily by the agency's storage hardware. Automatic purging of records based on agency policy is also supported, easing database administration.
The Field Information Module was designed as a more general resource for tracking the contacts with suspected gang members. It is often used to enter contacts made under suspicious circumstances or during directed enforcement opeations where insufficient information is available to determine crew or gang membership or affiliations.
This function also allows for the attachment of digital photos to the record. It was designed as a means to track past contact information to be used in establishing associations and movement patterns.
Both modules support intelligent inquiry, query by example, database response importation, cut and paste functions, department-maintained common lookup tables and so on. Four levels of security are provided based on username/password policy administered by the department.
The two modules make up the tagger-gang resource and can be cost-effectively customized to better fit departmental requirements. The technology and methodology utilized to construct and maintain these integrated software systems is state of the art.
